The comfortable lodge with spectacular views down the valley has been home to many world-renowned fishermen over the years. The Traful River, which contains landlocked salmon, brown, and rainbow trout continues to attract anglers from around the globe, from November to May.

Estancia Arroyo Verde is not only paradise for anglers, there are incredible, majestic hiking, walking and riding trails.

The 10.000 thousand acre property is crisscrossed by numerous paths, some taking you to the high peaks over looking the lake, valley, river and offering spectacular views of the Andean Condor in flight.

Overlooking the valley, the traditional wood and stone built houses are set in beautifully landscaped gardens with mature trees, shrubs and colourful borders.

There are several outside seating areas to enjoy a drink before lunch or to watch the sunset.

In the main house, the sun-lounge, bar, living-room and dining-room with their fireplaces were designed to create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere for guests.

 

Each of the four individually decorated twin/double bedrooms has en-suite facilities and heating. In an adjacent house two other bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

  • Fly-Fishing
    The Traful is an exclusively catch and release fly-fishing river. At the beginning of the season the river runs high and fast with the level dropping in December but usually with fast water till the beginning or middle of January (depending on weather conditions, especially the winter snows), it then runs slow till the first Autumn rains.

  • Horse Riding
    All riders beginners or experienced can choose between easy trail riding or more advanced mountain riding. The rides can be for a few hours, half day or full day depending on guests' preferences.

  • Hiking
    With innumerable trails to choose from guests can explore the ranch. A gentle hike down the river or more energetic ones around the lake and up the mountains.

  • Bird Watching
    The Andean condor and the Magellan woodpecker are just two of the many species of birds that call Arroyo Verde home. In the company of specialized guides guests roam the area in search of these feathered friends. Half day or whole day trips can be organized.

  • Photography & Culinary Workshops
    For groups of up to 14, photography workshops under the tutelage of professional photographers such as Eliseo Miciu and Angela Copello have proved to be very successful.
