In 1978, José Luiz Vazquez arrived in Búzios, with the desire to live in a small fishing village, in a simple property, with a panoramic view towards the Atlantic Ocean. After some time, he opened a small inn to host family and friends, with five rooms.
In 1988, Pousada Abracadabra was renovated and remodeled with five news rooms, offering a homelike experience to its visitors, who were traveling to get to know the peninsula. Nowadays, the property consists of 15 rooms and the Mistico Sunset Lounge & Restaurant.
