After your first night at one of Managua's better hotels you will travel to the lovely colonial city of Granada where you will be staying at an upscale ecolodge located on a private island on Lake Nicaragua. Then transfer to the southern Pacific coast where you will spend three nights relaxing at the Agua Wellness Resort in the quiet uncrowned Tola area on the Pacific coast. There are plenty of optional activities that can be arranged during your days at leisure at both places.

Day 1 : Managua

You will be met at the Managua Int'l Airport upon arrival and transferred to your hotel.

The Hyatt Place Managua is conveniently located 20 minutes from Augusto C. Sandino International Airport at the south side of the Galerias Santo Domingo, the most prestigious shopping center in the city. Day 2 : Managua - Granada

You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Granada.

Granada City Tour
You will go for a traditional horseback carriage, pulled by two horses and conducted by a local driver. The tour will start going to La Casa de los Tres Mundos: art gallery, and a cultural academy, the convent of San Francisco Church, built in 1529 and decorated with elegant paintings, and pre- Columbian statues from Zapatera Island, we will visit Iglesia la Merced we hike to the tower from where you can get greats views of the city, you will go to the Old Train Station that has just been restored and it’s located in front of Sandino Park, and the last place we’ll visit is La Polvora, old fort where the Spanish stores the dynamite and weapons in the 17th and 18th century to face the attacks of English and French pirates.

After the tour you will transfer to your overnight accommodations.

Jicaro Island Ecolodge is Nicaragua´s most upscale nature resort located on a private island in Lake Nicaragua. The lodge is located just a short boat ride from the colonial town of Granada with spectacular views of the Mombacho Volcano across the lake.

Days 3, 4 : Granada

Days at leisure. Optional (not included) activities can be arranged such as a boat ride or kayak tour on Lake Nicaragua, cooking class, yoga.

Day 5 : Granada - Aqua Wellness Resort

After breakfast you will transfer by boat back to the Granada dock where your private driver and guide will be waiting to drive you to Mombacho.
Mombacho Volcano is a 1400 meters high volcano. It's been extinct for many years and it is totally covered with vegetation. This has created a rich ecosystem with 50 species of mammals, 174 species of birds, 30 of reptiles and 750 species of flora. A powerful truck will drive all the way to the top of the extinct volcano.

You will go through coffee plantations to the cloud forest, which offers exceptional sites to discover flora and fauna. Once at the volcano top you will hike around one of the three craters, along the “Crater” trail (around 1h30m hike). On the way there are several lookouts that boast stunning views to the crater and its lush vegetation, the city of Granada, Masaya smoking volcano, Lake Nicaragua and the Islands (views available if weather permits it!). Howler monkeys can frequently be observed or heard.

From Mombacho you will transfer to the coastal town San Juan del Sur and continue to Tola, also on the Pacific coast. Unlike its "sister area" of San Juan del Sur, the area of Tola is still quite unknown but boasts the country’s most tranquil bays and pristine beaches with white and pink sands.

Overnight at the Aqua Wellness Resort, Ocean View Tree House Studio with plunge pool, daily breakfast included - 3 nights.
Aqua Wellness Resort is nestled on a private white sand beach along Nicaragua's Pacific coast, almost hidden amongst the treetops. Aqua’s facilities include a full-service spa with two treatment rooms (a single and double treatment room), one of Nicaragua’s finest organic restaurants, a beachside bar, hearth oven bakery, oceanside yoga platform, and the centerpiece of the resort, a beautiful white sandy beach with chairs, loungers, and water sports equipment for your enjoyment.

La Bromelia Restaurant serves a mix of American and “typico” Nicaraguan fare.The cuisine is focused on healthy local cuisine with contemporary style and flair.

The rooms at Aqua are part of elevated treetop villa houses. Each villa is just footsteps from the beach, yet designed with privacy in mind.

Day 6, 7 : Aqua Wellness Resort

Days at leisure. Beach toys and yoga classes are included. The following activities are optional: sport fishing, boat tours for dolphin and turtle watching.

Day 8 : Return to Managua

At the appropriate time you will transfer by private vehicle to the international airport in Managua. *Depending on your flight time it may be necessary to spend your last night at a Managua hotel.
