Colchagua Valley Tour Full-day privately-guided tour of Neyen Winery and tour with lunch at Casa Lapostolle
Pick up at your hotel and drive south through the central valley towards Santa Cruz in the Colchagua Valley. Santa Cruz is a quiet and provincial town. You will visit Neyen winery, founded in 2002 on the site of one of Apalta’s first wineries, built in 1890. Nestled into a horseshoe-shaped ring of mountains, Neyen produces a treasured red wine reflective of the famed terroir bathed by the Tinguiririca River, blessed by the sun, and sheltered by the Coastal Mountain Range. This privately hosted tour and tasting provides guests with a comprehensive look at their vineyard and winemaking facility. Guests will then be shown through the Neyen winery to learn more about the winemaking process. Experience finalizes in a relaxed tasting in the bodega showcasing two vintages of Neyen.
Continue the tour through the Colchagua Valley with a visit to Casa Lapostolle, founded in 1994 and owned by the famous Lapostolle-Marnier family, creators of the Grand Marnier liqueur. Nowadays the winery produces some of the best wines in Chile. In 2008, Lapostolle was awarded 96 points in Wine Spectator for its Clos Apalta wine, which was also chosen as Top Wine of that year. In creating Lapostolle, the family has pursued the same uncompromising approach to quality that made Grand Marnier a global success. Its objective is as simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroir of Chile. Today, Lapostolle owns 370 hectares in three different vineyards and produces a total of 200,000 cases spread over Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère, and Syrah. Lapostolle is distributed in more than 60 countries around the world. A wonderful lunch is included after the tour.
