Day 1 : Santa Cruz

Viru Viru International airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon 3-hour tour to the most interesting and affluent sites of the city: the zoo where regional fauna and various endangered species can be seen, museums, principal monuments, residential neighborhoods, and La Recoba handcraft market. Overnight LP Santa Cruz Hotel, daily breakfast included - 2 nights.

Day 2 : Samaipata

A full-day trip through the Amazon plains and the last branches of the Andean range. Visit the Samaipata ruins, majestic and mysterious pre-Inca ruins located in the top of a hill with a big ceremonial center carved in the stones. Stroll the town of Samaipata visit the local museum. Lunch included. Return to Santa Cruz.

Day 3 : Santa Cruz - Sucre

Hotel pickup and transfer to the airport for your flight to Sucre. Airport reception in Sucre and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This tour includes visit to Casa de la Libertad, where the Act of Independence of Bolivia was signed in 1825; Bolivar Park, to see examples of the aristocratic traditions of Sucre, small replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc of Triomphe of Paris; the church and museum of La Recoleta; the ASUR museum of Indian Textiles.

Day 4 : Tarabuco

Full day tour of Tarabuco, 78 km/48 miles - 1 hour by car from Sucre. This colorful village has without a doubt the best traditional Indian Market in South America. They have a big fair every Sunday that had become the primary economic and social activity of the local people. The clothing of the Quechua-speaking Tarabuqueño men and women has not changed since Inca times. Their weavings are among the best in technique, quality and color. Lunch is included.

Day 5 : Sucre - Potosi

Depart Sucre by bus following different valleys and ascending through the highlands to the city of Potosi, declared a Cultural and Natural Heritage site by the UNESCO. Afternoon tour of the Cerro Rico Mines.

This excursion allows visitors to experience an unforgettable trip thousands of meters underground, to see the living and working conditions of the Bolivian miners (protective clothing and helmets are provided). The silver mine is in the famous Cerro Rico, once the richest of the world.
Overnight at the Santa Teresa Hostal, breakfast included.

Day 6 : Potosi – Uyuni - Colchani

Morning visit to the Mint House, the San Francisco and San Lorenzo churches. strolling the traditional colonial streets. Restaurant lunch or box-lunch included. Afternoon bus trip to Uyuni, crossing branches of the Andes range, passing old mining centers and villages, with spectacular landscapes and Indian communities en route. From Uyuni you will continue to Colchani. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included today. 

Overnight Palacio de Sal Hotel (salt hotel), breakfast included.

Day 7 : Uyuni Salt Flats

The road trip to the Great Salt Flats begins. En route, you’ll see the village of Colchani, where you will visit an artisanal salt processing plant and observe the salt extraction processes. Continue the trip to Incahuasi Island (also known as Fish Island) where you will see the amazing giant cactuses. Lunch. Visit the Coquesa Mummies and continue to San Juan. All meals included. Overnight Magia de Uyuni Hotel, breakfast included.

Day 8 : Uyuni Salt Flats

Today is a long day! Early morning departure to the REA (National Reserve Eduardo Abaroa) and Laguna Colorada, declared a RAMSAR site due to the nesting of over 30,000 flamingos at 4,278 m. Then up to the “Sol de Mañana" geysers, passing alongside Challviri Lagoon, with its hot spring on the shores of Polques.

Cross through the high desert of Pampas de Dali, with amazing views, to finally reach Laguna Verde, in the foothills of the Licancabur Volcano. After that, drive north to Villamar. All meals included today. Overnight Mallku Cueva Hotel, breakfast included.

Day 9 : Uyuni Salt Flats - La Paz

After breakfast visit the Cave Paintings and Fort of Tomás Lakjas. Continue to Uyuni, visiting the Rocks Valley and going through Alota and San Cristobal villages en route. After lunch transfer to the airport in Uyuni for your flight to La Paz. Arrival in La Paz and transfer to your hotel. Breakfast and lunch included today. Overnight Naira Hostal, breakfast included - 2 nights.

Day 10 : La Paz - Tiwanaku

You will be met at your hotel and depart for Tiahuanaco (72 km from La Paz) crossing the highlands to one of the oldest American cultures, considered the cradle of the American man. Guided visits to the temple of Kalasasaya, Gate of the Sun, monoliths Ponce and Fraile, Akapana pyramid and semiunderground temple, as well as the local museums. After lunch return to La Paz. Afternoon La Paz city tour including visits to the San Francisco church, Murillo Square with Congress, Government palaces and Cathedral, visits to street markets, rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft artifacts.

Day 11 : La Paz - Copacabana - Island of the Sun

You will be met at your hotel and drive north through the highlands and parallel to the Royal Andes Range to Copacabana (3½ hours) on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Visit the famous Virgen Morena and its church and take a stroll around town. Depart by boat to the Island of the Sun (1 hour), landing at the port in Huacani where you will be served a typical “Aptapi” lunch. Hike for about 45 minutes to the Ecolodge La Estancia where you will spend the night. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included today.

Day 12 : La Chincana - Island of the Moon - Copacabana - La Paz

DON’T MISS A GREAT SUNRISE! Boat ride to La Chincana to see these great Inca ruins. Continue by boat to the Island of the Moon, where you will visit the Iñak Uyu ruins. Continue by boat to Copacabana (1½ hours). Transportation to La Paz (3½ hours). Breakfast and lunch included today. Overnight Naira Hostal, breakfast included.

Day 13 : Int'l Departure

Hotel pickup and transfer to El Alto Int'l Airport.
