Visit Three Diverse Areas of Brazil

Incredible Brazil Tour

Experience three diverse parts of Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Iguacu Falls, and the Amazon River jungle at an all-inclusive lodge for
10D/9N Starting at $2495 per person

Begin in Rio de Janeiro with a private tour of the city, Corcovado Mountain and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Leisure time in Rio can be spent at the legendary beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.

Fly to Foz de Iguaçú, home to one of the most beautiful ecological reserves of the planet and where you find one of the most spectacular views of the world, the Iguaçú Falls. You will explore the falls on both the Brazilian and Argentinean sides.

Iguacu Falls

Fly to Manaus, the gateway city to the Amazon rainforest. After a night in Manaus and a private tour of this historic city you will transfer down the Amazon River, past the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ and up a smaller tributary to your lodge.

Juma Lodge Amazon Jungle

From the lodge your days (and some nights) will be spent on guided river and jungle excursions by boat and on foot.

Lost World Adventures itineraries can be tailor-made according to your plans and preferences: budget, hotel selections, travel dates, optional excursions, length of trip, etc.

Upon arrival you will be met your private, bilingual guide who will drive you to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Overnight Windsor Copa (or similar), breakfast included - 3 nights.

Day 2 : Full-day Sugarloaf & Corcovado

You will be picked up at your hotel by your guide and set off for a private tour of Rio, Sugarloaf and Corcovado Mountain.

You will be driven through several different districts of the city, arriving at Cosme Velho Station for a cog-wheel tram ride to the top of the Corcovado Mountain and its famous statue of Christ, the Redeemer.

After a tasty Brazilian barbeque lunch, you will then go through a tunnel that crosses the Corcovado Mountain to arrive in Rio de Janeiro's downtown, where the Sambodromo (Carnival takes place here!) and the Cathedral are located.

You will pass through the Lapa District, towards the Flamengo Park and Urca to climb the mountain by cable car.

Lunch is included.

Day 3 : Rio de Janeiro

Free day on your own or optional guided excursions. Options include: 'Rio by Night' Dinner Show, Tijuca Forest by Jeep, favela tour, Poc Das Antas Biological Reserve, Ilha Grande, Hang Gliding.

After settling in you will be met by your guide and set off to explore the Brazilian side of the falls on a half-day excursion.

You will walk along the footbridge-system with occasional platforms that offer magnificent views over the river and waterfall system. You will make your way to the foot of Floriano Falls - with its spray splashing on the surprised faces of the visitors.

Optional excursion (not included in trip cost):

Macuco Safari
The tour begins with a 3 km trail in a 4X4 vehicles, followed 600-meter walking trail that leads you to a small waterfall called "Salto do Macuco".

Your bilingual guide will provide information about the flora and the fauna of the Park. The final part is the upstream boat tour towards the "Devil's Throat" in motorized rubber boats.

Macuco Falls is one of the most visited spots in Iguaçu due to its exuberant fauna and flora. Light clothes and appropriate shoes are required. Duration - 1 hour, 40 minutes. Weather dependent.

Day 5 : Iguazu Falls, Argentina

This morning you will be picked up by your private guide and set off to explore the Argentine side of the falls.

You will be taken by vehicle over the Tancredo Neves Bridge across the Iguassú River entering Argentina - a very nice ride through exuberant tropical flora. Passing the city of "Puerto Iguazu", after 9 miles the bus enters the tropical rainforest of the Argentinian National Park.

Near the falls, you can walk upon wooden foot-bridges to "Devil's Throat" where the main current falls down. The area is surrounded by deep jungle, with lots of tropical birds and a marvelous ambience. Rainbows are formed by the reflections of the countless falls and the sparkling spray of their waters.

On the way back, a stop is made in the center of "Puerto Iguazu" for shopping - typical Argentinian handicraft, leather works and Indian art will all be available.

The trip concludes at the "three countries corner" - from where one can see the three landmarks of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.

Day 6 : Foz Do Iguaçu - Manaus

This morning you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus, the gateway city to the Brazilian Amazon. Airport reception and transfer to your Manaus hotel.

Overnight Comfort Hotel Manaus, breakfast included.

This afternoon you will discover this city's colorful history, botanical gardens and famous Opera House on an engaging half-day tour. Afterwards, get a good night's rest before embarking on your journey into the jungle.

Day 7 : Manaus - Amazon Jungle

You will be picked up at your hotel and set off on a three hour journey to your lodge, via speed boat and van.

Along the way stop to see the 'Meeting of the Waters', the spot where the muddy waters of the Solimões River and the black waters of the Negro River run side by side, without mixing, to form the great Amazon River.

Enjoy your first contact with the jungle and observe the giant water lily, the majestic trees (Brazil Nut and Sumaumas), the birds and the local communities. You may encounter pink river dolphins on the way.  A truly unique experience.

Upon arrival at Juma Lodge, you will be greeted with an exotic fruit beverage and briefed on your following days. Lunch, a creative fusion of international and Amazon cuisine is then served.

The afternoon activity is a reconnaissance tour through the igarapés (Amazonian creeks) and the igapós (flooded forest) in motorized canoes.

Return to Juma Lodge.  After dinner, go for a canoe ride to observe the night fauna (alligators, frogs, birds).  Stay alert to the mysterious sounds of the forest and the starry sky.

Experience flora and fauna that is unique to the area and get first hand accounts of the local native's lifestyle and relationship with the jungle.

All meals and guided excursions are included.

Day 8 : Amazon

Breakfast with typical fruits and regional food. Depart for a morning jungle hike. Once inside the Amazon forest you will feel its charm and greatness.

All tours are led by a lodge naturalist guide with extensive knowledge of the area. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will go fishing and learn more about the indigenous species of the Amazon (piranha, peacock bass).

While enjoying the sunset, return to Juma, observing the Capped Herons and the Cormorants transform the landscape into an amazing show. Dinner will include the fish caught today, cooked in the Amazon style.

Day 9 : Amazon

Early this morning you will leave for a sunrise excursion, witnessing the transformation of the dark water of the Juma River into a mirror of the sights and sounds of the waking birds leaving their nests for another day.

Return to the lodge for breakfast. You will visit the house of a local native to learn more about their fascinating culture, including the manual production of manioc flour and the handcrafting of goods out of rubber sap. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Travel by canoe, just like the locals, while contemplating the dense vegetation, the height and width of the trees, the bird's and monkey's sounds.

Day 10 : Int'l Departure

After breakfast and an optional morning excursion you will transfer back to Manaus and on to the airport for your int'l departure.

"Excellent trip!"

Everything worked out smoothly. We especially liked the relaxed and engaging attitudes of all the guides and transfer personnel. There was never a feeling of panic or too-tightly wound control. A work of art, really!
