Its in-house restaurant, Governador, is owned by two of the most famous chefs from Colombia, the Rausch brothers.

The Sofitel Santa Clara was originally built in 1621 as a convent, and was restored in 1995 to house this five-star hotel that offers 121 rooms bursting with beauty, history and enchanting stories. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of Cartagena’s historic walled city, making it easy to walk around Cartagena’s narrow streets lined with brightly coloured colonial houses.

Within the hotel you realize how it inspired the late Gabriel Garcia Marquez to write Of Love and Other Demons, one of his most famous novels. The hotel is truly magical, and the kind and attentive staff will make you feel right at home.

The Casa San Agustin Boutique Hotel showcases authentic Colombian decor while seamlessly incorporating the modern services and amenities that contemporary travelers seek. The hotel’s 30 rooms feature a blue-hued palette accented by natural fabrics and rich dark woods. Ironwork beds, chandeliers and sconces share space with vintage pieces, art and artifacts for an overall atmosphere that feels relaxed and residential.

Casa San Agustin is the home of Alma, one of Cartagena’s top restaurants, and it is ideally located in the heart of the old city of Cartagena. This hotel has received many awards, and has made the top hotels lists by Condé Nast, Trip Advisor and Fodors.

"The trip was amazing and very well organized."

Everything was planned to the very last detail and the trip went without a flaw. Their knowledge of the region is extensive. The pre-trip information was also very well organized and informative. We traveled with 3 young children, so it was reassuring to know we were in good hands. I would use this company again without hesitation if traveling in one of the countries they have expertise in.
