Lost World Adventures itineraries can be tailor-made according to your plans and preferences: budget, hotel selections, travel dates, optional excursions, length of trip, etc.
Meet our local representative as you exit the Juan Santa Maria International Airport who will drive you to the Hotel Grano De Oro, a renovated stately mansion built at the turn of the century now updated with the comforts and amenities of a modern hotel.
Unique rooms and corridors are elegantly decorated with watercolors, tapestries, and locally handcrafted furniture creating a charm and character in traditional Latina American style and heritage.
Meals are served in an intimate dining area in a garden courtyard (our favorite chocolate cake anywhere!)
In the morning you will depart for an approximately 1.5-hour drive to the Nectranda Cloud Forest Gardens in San Ramon, a horticultural display garden landscaped to exhibit the immense richness of the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. The premontane cloud forest of this region has one the highest density of species in the world.
The Garden carries out educational programs for the general public and conducts limited scientific studies to support its educational goals.
These goals are to promote understanding of neotropical cloud forests: their biodiversity, their ecology, and their importance to our future. The trails at Nectandra Garden weave through both secondary and primary forests along loop trails of varying length and walking difficulty to challenge visitors of all ages and physical abilities.
After your hike, you will continue onto El Silencio Cloud Forest and El Silencio Lodge & Spa. Located in the picturesque Bajos Del Toro region, this is the perfect location for those seeking a deep connection with nature.
It features a 500-acre private cloud forest reserve and is flanked by the Juan Castro Blanco and Poas Volcano National Parks. Misty tropical cloud forest, roaring waterfalls, and colorful culture are showcased through heartfelt hospitality and facilities that integrate with nature.
A complementary soft-hike in the forest (private reserve) is included with your stay.
