Day 1:  Arrive Guatemala City - Transfer to Antigua

Welcome to Guatemala!  On arrival at the Guatemala City Airport our local representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Antigua

Antigua is among the world's best conserved colonial cities in the Americas. Declared a UNESCO heritage site since 1,979, this place is a magic and captivating small town that makes you feel time might have stopped 300 years ago.

From its colonial architecture to its beautiful surroundings; strolling through town on the cobblestone streets, will fascinate you! 

Overnight Antigua hotel, daily breakfast included - 3 nights. Get settle and you may ask us for a dinner venue and make reservations. 

Day 2:  Pacaya Volcano Hike

This volcano is one of the most visited in Guatemala. At 2,552m. (8,373ft.) above the sea level it’s been active since 1965. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to hike from the base to the top.

Enjoy beautiful views toward other volcanoes and if its clear enough, you may also see the south coastline. This active volcano has a Strombolian activity, but occasional Plinian eruptions also occur. A few of its eruptions have showered Guatemala City and surroundings with ash.

Start your hike from the base, walk through a pine forest and enjoy a beautiful view to other three volcanoes. When you reach the top, look for some steam wholes from the surface.

A picnic-style lunch will be included. When you reach the base, your driver and guide will transfer you back to your hotel in Antigua. 

Day 3:  Antigua - Yoga and Walking Tour

Morning yoga session at Panza Verde Yoga Studio. Yoga is aimed to unite the mind, the body, and the spirit.

Yogis view that the mind and the body are one, and that if it is given the right instruction and taken to the right environment, it can find harmony and heal itself. Yoga therefore is considered therapeutic. It helps you become more aware of your body's posture, alignment and patterns of movement. It makes the body more flexible and helps you relax even in the midst of a stress stricken environment. Feel fitter, be more energetic, be happier and peaceful. 

Meson Panza Verde is one of the most renowned restaurants in La Antigua. The restaurant/hotel is a stunning old house of brick, stone and fine wood. Plants seem to spill from the walls and ledges in various courtyards. Art is scattered everywhere. The place is simply amazing and have the best yoga instructors in town. After the workout session enjoy lunch anywhere you like.

Day 4:  Iximche Archaeological Site - Transfer to Lake Atitlan

Iximche, a Pre-Columbian Mayan site in the Western Highlands of Guatemala, it is not the major archaeological site, but was founded by the Kaqchikel Maya in 1,470 after a prolonged conflict with the Quiche. It was the capital of the Late Pre-Classic Kaqchikel kingdom from 1,470 until its abandonment in 1,524 with the Spaniards arrival. After the tour you will continue by car to Lake Atitlan.

Day 5:  Kayak and Cerro de Oro Hike

With three stunning volcanoes rising out of its emerald surface, Lake Atitlan is for sure the best way to be introduced to the indigenous culture in the highlands of Guatemala. This lake is characterized by its natural beauty and surrounded by gorgeous volcanoes. The famous writer Aldous Huxley considered it "the most beautiful lake in the world".

After breakfast your guide will transfer you by boat to the starting point and prepare for a kayak adventure. Kayak on Lake Atitlan for about 1 hour. This will be followed by a steep hike on Cerro de Oro, commonly known as the sleeping elephant, a hill located on the slopes of Atitlan Volcano.

Along the trail you will appreciate wonderful views of Lake Atitlan and one of the most beautiful views in the country. At the summit of Cerro de Oro you will visit Mayan shrine in which ceremonies are taken place. The elderly locals believe that at Cerro de Oro there is a place called "La Puerta" or the door, with direct access to the underworld.  

When you reach the other side of this hill, transfer to the village of Santiago. Lunch will be included at a local restaurant. A private boat will take you back to your hotel. 

Day 6:  Chichicastenango Market - Flight to Flores

After breakfast you will transfer by boat to Panajachel, then continue by car to Chichicastenango for a market tour. This market is one of the most colorful markets in Latin America. People from all different towns meet every Thursday and Sunday to sell and buy all kinds of goods.

You may find everything from vegetables, fruits, masks, colorful textiles, handbags to mystic Mayan ceremonies. Enjoy the commerce and the movement of this local market. This is a great place to buy your souvenirs such as textiles, wooden masks and handicrafts.

After the market tour your driver will transfer you to Guatemala City Airport for your flight to Flores. On arrival our local representative will take you to your hotel. Overnight Tikal hotel, breakfast included, 

Day 7:  Tikal Sunrise Tour - Flight to Guatemala City

Tikal, a city and ceremonial center of the ancient Maya civilization, Tikal became an important ceremonial center with the construction of major pyramids and temples.

The best years were the Late Classic Period (600-900 AD). Tikal has some of the most fascinating archaeological remains of the ancient Maya Civilization, excavated by Pennsylvania University between 1956 and 1969.

Tikal is the largest excavated site in the American continent. It is Guatemala's most famous cultural and natural preserve.

Depart your hotel with your guide very early for sunrise from the top of the main pyramid. Return to your hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, your guide will take you to Tikal Main Plaza and show you the layout of the temples, architecture, history, and the theories of why they disappeared.

If you are lucky, a few monkeys, parrots, macaws and toucans will be on site.

After the tour enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the middle of the jungle. 

In the afternoon you will transfer to the Mundo Maya Airport in Flores for your flight to Guatemala City.  

Airport reception and transfer to your Guatemala City hotel. Overnight at hotel in Guatemala City, breakfast included.  

Day 8:  Int'l Departure

After breakfast your driver will take you to Guatemala City airport on time for your international departure flight.
