This wonderful round trip, with light walks (around 1-2 hours a day) takes you through the highlights of the countryside in Iceland.

For all who love the sea and the cliffs, but also for those who like to visit the highlands. On this tour you will see the typical of Icelandic nature: the glaciers, the geysers, the waterfalls and the volcanoes.

Day 1: Arrival – Blue Lagoon - Reykjavik

Arrival in Keflavík, Iceland. On the way to Reykjavik, you can take a relaxing bath in the famous Blue Lagoon (to include admission is optional). Afterwards transfer to your accommodation and free evening in Reykjavik. For late arrivals, optional visit to the Blue Lagoon on day 11.

Day 2: Reykjavik – Kaldidalur – National Park Thingvellir

The roundtrip starts by driving through the “Fjord of Whales” (Hvalfjörður) to Borgarnes. There you will visit the biggest geothermal hot spring in Europe: Deildartunguhver.

Very close by are the lava-waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafoss. Further on we drive to the highland road close to Langjökull down to the National Park of Thingvellir. From the lake Thingvallavatn we drive to our accomodation (2 nights).

Day 3: Selfoss – Thjorsardalur – Landmannalaugar - Selfoss

Along the glacialriver of Thjorsa we drive to the Viking farm Stöng, which was evacuated after the eruption of Hekla in 1104 but rebuilt in 1939. From there we drive through the wild nature and pass small rivers on our way to the liparit mountains in Landmannalaugar. There we have the opportunity to walk around for a while and even take a bath in the warm natural pool. On our way back to the hotel we pass the spectacular volcano Hekla.

Day 4: Thorsmork – Skogar - Vik

Behind the glaciers Myrdalsjokull and Eyjafjallajokull there is a hidden valley, a paradise, called Thorsmork (the valley of Thor) and we will visit this wonderful place.

Along the south coast we will also see and visit the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. By Skógafoss we will also visit a museum that shows us the way of life in the former days.

As we pass the glacier Myrdalsjokull we arrive in the little village of Vík.

Day 5: National Park Skaftafell – Glacier Lagoon Jökulsárlón

On this day we drive by the black beaches of the south and come to the National Park of Skaftafell. The park is by the largest glacier of Europe Vatnajökull (over 8000km2). In Skaftafell we take on a walk to the waterfall Svartifoss.

The tour then takes us further on to Breidamerkursandur and the glacier lagoon of Vatnajökull: Jökulsárlón. Optional sailing on the lagoon, in between the icebergs. Overnight in the area.

Day 6: The East Fjords - Egilsstadir

From the village of Hofn we drive up to the east fjords where the landscape is exceptional with the beautiful mountains stetching out to sea. The landscape here is 16-20 million years old. We drive through small fishing villages up to the village of Egilsstadir.

Day 7: Egilsstadir - Myvatn

From Egilsstadir we take the highland road Mödrudalur to the lake Myvatn in the north. The sights in this area are unique: the birdlife, the flora and the lava formations make Myvatn a paradise for nature lovers.

The geothermal area of Namaskard, where the nature is boiling with hot water and mud, the colors of the ground and mountains is spectacular. We also pass the waterfall of gods: Godafoss.

Day 8: Husavik – Asbyrgi – Waterfall Dettifoss

We visit the fishing village of Husavik on our way to the cliffs of Tjornes. Further on we drive to Asbyrgi which is one of Icelands most beautiful places and on to the powerful waterfall Dettifoss in the riffs of river Jökulsa.

Day 9: Akureyri – Siglufjordur - Varmahlid

On our way driving in the north we come through the little town of Akureyri and to the fishing villages of Dalvik and Olafsfjordur. We may have time to take on a whalewatching tour.

In the village of Siglufjordur we optionally can visit the historical museum where the great times of herring fishing made this little village a big player in the Iceland economy during mid last age. Overnight in the fjord of Skagafjordur.

Day 10: Kjölur Highland Road – Geysir - Horsefarm

On this day we take on the adventure of passing across Iceland by taking the highland road Kjölur. We will drive between the two glaciers Langjokull and Hofsjokull.

On the way we have the opportunity to take a bath in one of the natural warm springs and then we drive on to the south and visit the waterfall Gullfoss and the active hot springs of Haukadalur: Geysir (the original one!) and the frequently sprouting Strokkur.

Later on we will watch a horse-show in a local farm. Overnight in the area.

Day 11: REYKJAVIK

On the short drive to Reykjavík, we will visit the little agricultural village of Hveragerdi and when we arrive in Reykjavík we will have a short sightseeing tour in the town. The guide will leave us at the hotel and the rest of the trip is free for you to spend.

Day 12: Reykjavik

This day you can spend as you prefer. Different day excursions available.

Day 13: Departure

Transfer to the airport by Shuttle Service and flight home.
