Three days and two nights on the Andean Express Train
Cusco - Puno - Arequipa | Thursday to Saturday
Depart in the morning from Cusco and travel across the Altiplano towards Puno. Stop in the village of Raqchi, also known as the Temple of Viracocha because of its emblematic constructions and La Raya, the highest point on the Cusco-Puno route at 4,335 meters above sea level, the perfect place to see the beautiful snow-capped Andes and the many llamas and vicunas roaming.
The final destination of the day is the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. After a boat trip to the Floating (Uros) and Taquile Island embark for Arequipa, "The White City." On the way stop at the Sumbay Caves, home to Cave Paintings of Peru's first settlers. There is an optional trip to Colca Canyon, not included, before arriving into Arequipa where your guide will provide an extensive tour of the city.
2 Deluxe double cabins, 6 Junior double cabins, 11 twin bed cabins, 5 bunk bed cabins accommodate a maximum of 48 passengers. Two Dining Cars utilize locally sourced food from the Peruvian Andes skillfully designed by the chefs from the Belmond Monasterio in Cuzco.
Unwind and meet new friends in the Observation Car while sipping a Pisco Sour. The Open Deck provides fresh Andean air and a view of the ever-changing landscape. Comfortable seating and another bar in the Lounge car will be another place to relax, unwind and enjoy the views. There is even a spa car to indulge yourself in pampering.
