Cachalote I

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Cachalote is no longer operating in the Galapagos; she is being replaced by a more spacious and comfortable vessel which will be available as of the summer of 2018. Please stay tuned for updates on the new ship. You can also visit the sister ship, The Beluga, for similar Galapagos itineraries and cruise information.

Cachalote I is one of the few motor sailors offering cruises in the Galapagos Islands and is ideal for those travelers are enthusiastic about wildlife and enjoy being active. This traditional yacht offers an authentic, intimate and adventurous experience in the Galapagos Islands while providing the guests a first class service. Whilst most of the day time is spent exploring the islands and snorkeling in this National Park and Marine Reserve, there is also time to relax on deck while the boat cruises from one visitor site to the next.

Cachalote I is a comfortable and beautifully decorated yacht recently built in 2002 to meet all safety standards. Cachalote I accommodates 16 passengers in her 8 cabins: seven upper / lower berths and one matrimonial cabin with all private ensuite with hot/cold showers, and independent air conditioning units. There is plenty of deck space on three different wooden decks with seats and cushions to relax in the shade or sunbathe during the cruise.

While cruising through the Galapagos islands Cachalote’s guests have the opportunity to observe unique and abundant wildlife, walk along unusual volcanic terrain, snorkel with sea lions and marine turtles, and spot dolphins and whales from deck. Come, relax and have fun on our new vessel!

The Cachalote I has been awarded the “Smart Voyager Certification” for adhering to conservations standards and complies with all international maritime regulations and is SOLAS certified.

Cachalote I Itineraries

Cachalote I offers the option of 4 day, 5 day and 8 day itineraries that visit selected sites which are approved by the Galapagos National Park; each of these is unique, rich and varied and offer the opportunity to experience Galapagos up close and personal with a small group led by a highly experienced naturalist guide. The two 8 day itineraries can be combined to form a 15-day itinerary which we highly recommend for those travelers that would like to have a complete, in-depth experience of the Galapagos Islands.
