About Lost World Adventures

Lost World Adventures

Lost World Adventures has been designing custom journeys throughout South and Central America since 1987.

What began as a pioneering operation in Venezuela has evolved into a highly specialized travel company focused on tailor-made experiences for discerning travelers seeking something beyond the ordinary.

Today, we work with clients who value thoughtful planning, trusted expertise, and seamless execution—whether traveling for the first time to the region or returning to explore it more deeply.

A More Personal Approach to Travel

We believe the most meaningful journeys come from understanding a place—not simply visiting it.

Many travelers have experienced walking through a museum without context, moving from one exhibit to the next without fully appreciating what they are seeing. Travel can feel much the same without the right guidance.

Our role is to provide that context—through thoughtful planning, strong local expertise, and carefully selected experiences—so that each destination is experienced with depth, clarity, and purpose.

Deep Regional Expertise

Our focus is intentional.

We specialize in Latin America because it is where we have the strongest relationships, the deepest knowledge, and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality experiences.

Over the years, we have developed a trusted network of:

  • Carefully selected hotels and lodges
  • Highly experienced local guides
  • Reliable on-the-ground partners

This allows us to create journeys that are both seamless and authentic, even in more complex or remote destinations.

Travel, Thoughtfully Designed

Many of our clients are experienced travelers.

They are not looking for a packaged tour, but for a well-designed itinerary that balances:

  • Comfort and quality
  • Meaningful, immersive experiences
  • Efficient, well-managed logistics

We take a practical, detail-oriented approach to planning—ensuring that each journey is both enjoyable and executed to a high standard from start to finish.

Our Approach

Planning travel in South and Central America can be complex. With a vast range of destinations, accommodations, and experiences—often in remote or logistically challenging regions—knowing what to prioritize makes all the difference.

We simplify that process by combining:

  • First-hand regional knowledge
  • Trusted local partnerships
  • Careful attention to logistics and detail

The result is a journey that feels seamless, well-paced, and deeply rewarding.

Our Value

At Lost World Adventures, our work is built around three core principles:

Accountability

You have a single point of contact overseeing your journey from start to finish.

From initial planning through to your return home, we coordinate every detail and remain available throughout your trip. Should anything require adjustment along the way, we respond quickly and effectively.

Thoughtful Design & Trusted Partnerships

Our recommendations are based on extensive first-hand experience and long-standing relationships with local guides, lodges, and operators.

This allows us to offer experiences that are not only distinctive, but also reliable and well executed.

Responsible Travel

We believe travel should have a positive impact.

We work with partners who support local communities and environmental preservation, and we prioritize experiences that are respectful of the regions in which we operate.

Leadership

Lost World Adventures is led by Andrew Gilchrist, who brings decades of experience designing journeys throughout South and Central America.

His long-standing relationships across the region—combined with extensive first-hand travel experience—allow him to guide clients with insight, clarity, and attention to detail.

Andrew works closely with a trusted network of regional partners and specialists to ensure that each itinerary is thoughtfully designed and seamlessly executed.
