Trekking Tours to Central and South America
Some of the World’s best trekking is in and around the Andes of South America and the Lost World Adventures team is expert at planning luxury trekking tours in the region.
Our multi-day treks are always fully-supported with guide, porters and camp staff. Our treks span the continent from Colombia in the north to Torres del Paine in southern Patagonia, vary from easy walking to strenuous hiking, lasting from a couple of nights to a week or more.
Peru – the premier trek in Peru is the legendary Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu. Our 3-night classic Inca Trail Trek is a first-class exclusive program with private guide and staff.

Machu Picchu Peru Treks:
We offer a selection of treks that finish at Machu Picchu but hike along different routes.
- Treks in the Salkantay region take a different route to Machu Picchu around Nevado Salkantay. The 3- and 4-night treks require overnight camping, whereas the 6-night Salkantay Lodge-to-Lodge Trek to Machu Picchu offers more comfort with overnight stays in lodges with private rooms and private bathrooms.
- The ‘Moonstone to Machu Picchu’ trek travels a much less-visited area and through the eastern part of the Inca Trail.
- Our Lares treks – 3, 4 and 6 nights – hike through the Sacred Valley, cross passes over 4,000 feet, visiting remote high Andean villages en route. The routes vary depending on the length of the trek.
- The Ausangate Trek – El Camino del Apu – is a strenuous 4-night trek with overnight in rustic lodges (no electricity).
- Choquequirao Trek is a 3-night trek to the Inca ruins and archaeological complex of Choquequirao.
- The 8-night Trek to Vilcabamba – the remote and final refuge of the Inca Empire.
- The Cordillera Blanca in the central Andes near Huaraz is home to Peru’s highest peaks and numerous hiking trails, but the premier trek in this area is the 4-day Santa Cruz Trek, a high-altitude trek that reaches over 4,700 meters.
Argentina – we offer an extensive list of treks throughout Argentina, from Los Glaciares National Park in southern Patagonia to Iruya in the distant northwest corner of the country.
Chile – arguably the best treks in Chile are in Torres del Paine and include the ‘W‘, short ‘W’ and the Torres del Paine Circuit Trek. We offer these as small-group and private treks.
Colombia – two of our best treks are the 5-day Lost City, or Ciudad Perdida, Trek in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta range; and our 8-day El Cocuy trek in Cocuy National Park, an area of glaciers and towering peaks.
