Awana Kancha (Quechua name that means “The palace of the Weaver”) is located just off the highway and makes a nice stop for this interested in an outdoor museum for the four American Camelidaes (llama, vicuña, alpaca and guanaco), which are all found here. You will be picked up by your guide at your hotel and set off on a half day tour of Cusco and the nearby Inca ruins. Cusco, the oldest continuously inhabited city on the continent, was the capital of the Inca Empire and is considered by many Quechua peoples to be the spiritual center of the world.

You will be picked up in the morning by your private guide to embark on a half day tour through some of Lima's main colonial sites: The Cathedral, "Plaza de Armas" (main square), Government and Archbishop's Palaces, and Torre Tagle Palace.

Depart from Puno station, cross through deep valleys and high mountains where camelids graze in the wide open plains of the Altiplano. Stop in La Raya, the highest point on the Cusco-Puno route at 4,335 meters above sea level, the perfect place to see the beautiful snow-capped Andes and the many llamas and vicunas roaming.

Depart in the late morning from Cuzco and travel across the Altiplano towards Puno. Stop in the village of Raqchi, also known as the Temple of Viracocha because of its emblematic constructions and La Raya, the highest point on the Cusco-Puno route at 4,335 meters above sea level, the perfect place to see the beautiful snow-capped Andes and the many llamas and vicunas roaming.

Evening departure from Arequipa with a cocktail reception followed by dinner before you tuck into your sumptuous cabin where you let the scenery lull you to sleep. Awake to the sunrise at Lake Titicaca and an early breakfast. A full day at Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake, awaits.
