This extended trip allows you to see five areas of Nicaragua with free time to explore on your own. Start with 3 nights in Leon where you will have one day of touring the city and nearby wildlife refuge and a full day to wander on your own. Then return to Managua and fly to Big Corn Island.

After your first night at one of Managua's better hotels you will travel to the lovely colonial city of Granada where you will be staying at an upscale ecolodge located on a private island on Lake Nicaragua. Then transfer to the southern Pacific coast where you will spend three nights relaxing in the quiet uncrowded Tola area on the Pacific coast.

After your first night in Managua you will transfer to Leon for a two-night stay in the original and historic capital of Nicaragua. Climb the Cerro Negro Volcano (with optional sandboarding) and visit the Juan Venado Wildlife Reserve. On the transfer to Granada you will make stops at the Montibelli Wildlife Reserve and Masaya Volcano National Park.

After your first night in Managua you will transfer to Leon for an overnight stay in the original and historic capital of Nicaragua. Spend the night at one of the charming colonial hotels. On the following morning you will go on a guided tour of this historical city: you will visit the main churches and the Cathedral, galleries and colonial houses, and take the optional tower climb for an amazing view of the city and volcanoes.
