Day 1 : Bogota

You will be met at the Bogota Airport upon arrival and transferred to your hotel.

Overnight Four Seasons Casa Medina, daily breakfast included – 2 nights. The Casa Medina was originally built as a private residence in 1945 and has re-opened as the first Four Seasons hotel in Colombia.

The hotel has a warm residential feel, with only 62 rooms it features Spanish colonial accents enhanced with artisanal and contemporary touches. It is perfectly situated in Zona G, Bogota’s main gastronomic area. Facilities and amenities include WiFi, Castanyoles Restaurant, Four Seasons bar, room service, fitness center, concierge services, business center.

Day 2 : Bogota

You will be met at your hotel by your private guide and driver and set off for a walking tour through the winding streets of La Candelaria, Bogota’s historic district.

Your guide will be a local expert in history and architecture who will help you relive the history behind the streets, houses, plazas and cathedrals you will see along the way. Your guide will not only give you insight into the country’s history, but also into Colombia’s recent political and economic revival.

Then you will enjoy a closed-door visit to Bogota’s impressive Gold Museum. Here you will be accompanied by an archaeology expert who will recount the stories behind the extraordinary pieces recovered from archaeological sites throughout Colombia.

Through this private visit you will lear about the traditions of gold in ancient indigenous cultures, the religious beliefs and traditions of indigenous tribes, and discover the mythical gold piece that depicts the real legend of El Dorado. (Closed on Mondays)

A local lunch spot will be recommended by your guide based on your preferences. One such recommendation is Madre. Hidden inside La Candelaria, this restaurant is charming – its high ceilings and natural light mixes with the vintage design and colorful details. The menu offers a wide variety of plates from salads and seafood to gourmet pizzas. Lunch not included.

After lunch you will visit maestro Fernando Botero’s impressive personal art collection which includes his own masterpieces and works from artists such as Dali, Monet, Picasso and Matisse. Alongside one of the Museum’s collaborators, learn about the stories behind some of the most iconic paintings and about the life and works of Colombia’s most beloved artist. (Closed on Tuesdays)

This evening you will be accompanied by a local couple for dinner and drinks at Andres Carne de Res. The lively and exciting atmosphere, along with the eccentric decoration, makes this restaurant a unique and local dining experience. You may want to stay past dinner for a true Colombian rumba. So you can order whatever you wish, dinner will not be included.

Day 3 : Bogota – Coffee Triangle

Hotel pickup and transfer to the Bogota Airport for your flight to Pereira (or Armenia).

Overnight Hacienda Buenavista, daily breakfast included – 3 nights. Nestled in the heart of the coffee region, Hacienda Buenavista is an exclusive 4-bedroom boutique hotel that offers tranquility and comfort to guests.

Each suite offers a spacious terrace overlooking the gardens and surrounding mountains. Facilities and services include infinity pool, WiFi, terrace, hot tub, library, room service, laundry service, restaurant with curated wine list and cuisine based on local specialties and international classics.

The Coffee Region is simply beautiful with consistent year-round temperatures that range from lows in the low-60’s to highs in the high-70’s.

The rainy season is usually April-May and October-November, when you can expect dry mornings and rainy afternoons. The Coffee Triangle has its own culture which can be witnessed in small towns like Salento and Filandia. These ‘pueblos’ have preserved their traditions and brightly-colored houses since the colonization of the region in the late-1840s.

You will find a striking contrast between this region and the rest of the country which reinforces the country’s incredible cultural diversity. This area is a beautiful blend of lush mountains, rich culture and very kind people.

The region sits high on the western Andes range where the altitude, climate and fertile terrain induce the production of what many consider to be the best coffee in the world. After checking in (and optional lunch at the hotel – not included), a private car will pick you up at the hotel and drive you through the beautiful mountainous landscapes to a coffee hacienda owned by a local family.

One of the family members will give you a private tour of the plantation and explain the process of harvesting and producing premium quality coffee. Enjoy the lush landscapes, exotic flowers, fruits and stunning birds that inhabit the area.

After visiting the fields, let the experts guide you through a coffee tasting session. Learn about the aroma, how to differentiate between good and bad coffee and how to prepare a perfectly balanced cup of coffee.

Afterward, return to your hotel and spend the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure. Dinner will be served at the hotel’s highly-regarded restaurant.

Day 4 : Coffee Zone – Cocora Valley And Salento Tour

With breathtaking landscapes this is one of the most beautiful valleys in Colombia. Here one will find the impressive “Palma de Cera”, the Colombian national tree and one of the tallest varieties of palm in the world.

On the way back to Armenia the tour ends with a visit to Salento a picturesque village with an important the coffee culture. Tour can include an optional horseback ride in the Cocora Valley (at additional cost).

Day 5 : Coffee Zone

You will be transferred to a nearby spa. Treat yourselves to one of their many wellness plans, ranging from a 20-minute massage to a 90-minute chocolate and coffee scrub.

Dinner will be served by the warmth of your own personal bonfire. What is more romantic than enjoying delicious local dishes under the stars. (Dinner not included)

Day 6 : Pereira – Cartagena

Hotel pickup and transfer to the Pereira Airport for your flight to Cartagena.

Overnight Casa San Agustin, daily breakfast included – 3 nights.

The Casa San Agustin is located in the historic center of Cartegena de Indias. The hotel’s 30 guest rooms and spacious suites include Deluxe Room, Junior Suite, Premium Room (with private patio with plunge pool or Jacuzzi), Prestige Suite (with large balcony), Suite del Virrey (two-bedroom, two terraces, outdoor Jacuzzi).

Hotel facilities include Alma Restaurant (fine dining, indoor and outdoor options) and Alma Bar. Hotel services include 24-hour room service, twice daily housekeeping. Complimentary amenities include: signature cocktail upon arrival, water, soft drinks, coffee and tea, newspapers and magazines, wireless Internet, shoe shine.

A restaurant recommendation for lunch will be offered, such as Carmen, a top Cartagena restaurant that specializes in mixing micro cuisine with traditional Caribbean recipes, all prepared with local ingredients. Carmen is located in a beautiful corner inside the Hotel Boutique Ananda, preserving its authentic colonial architecture while featuring modern details.

After lunch you will meet your local expert in the hotel lobby – one of the best sommeliers in Colombia who will guide you through an exquisite tasting experience. You will sample a variety of premium rums, understand how rum is processed and ages, and learn how to recognize its numerous characteristics.

Restaurant recommendations for dinner will be offered based on your preferences. One such recommendation will be at Juan del Mar, where you can pick a sidewalk table and enjoy the excellent seafood while people watching in one of Cartagena’s prettiest plazas. Perhaps order patacones to start, then the Pargo Mar Caribe and Langostinos Caribenos are a must.

Day 7 : Cartagena – Half-day History and Architecture Tour

Alongside a local historian, walk through the winding streets of Cartagena’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Unlike traditional guides, the historian accompanying you will provide fascinating in-depth explanations and stories behind the iconic plazas, cathedrals, colonial mansions and colourful streets.

Learn about the Spanish colonization, Inquisition era, and pirates that sieged the city in the in the 17th century.

A restaurant recommendation for lunch will be offered, such as Cocina de Pepina. This pink and orange walled six-table dining room is a well-kept secret in the city.

The remainder of your afternoon is at leisure. Your guide will be available to accompany you around the Old City if you wish.

Restaurant recommendations for dinner will be offered, such as Marea by Rausch. Overlooking Cartagena’s bay and the Old City, this restaurant is simply enchanting. The menu is designed by the renowned Rausch brothers and features unique seafoods.

Day 8 : Cartagena

Day at leisure. As with previous days, a list of restaurant recommendations will be offered based on your preferences.

Day 9 : Rosario Islands

You will be met at your hotel by your private driver and transferred to Cartagena’s dock where the boat will be waiting. Set off to Islas del Rosario on a 28-foot speedboat, staffed with captain, crew and an English-speaking butler.

The archipelago of 30 islands is located 50-60 minutes from Cartagena and is replete with coral reefs, virgin white sand islands and calm bays with clear blue waters.

The boat will be equipped with snorkeling equipment, floating devices and a dingy to travel to and from the islets. Lunch (not included) will be arranged at one of the beach restaurants on the islands. Duration: 8:30am-4:00pm. Afterward, you will be transferred to Baru Island.

Overnight Casa Agua, daily breakfast included – 2 nights. Casa Agua is a very exclusive hotel located on the Island of Baru, a few minutes from the Rosario Islands and Cartagena. Hotel features include just 3 air-conditioned rooms, swimming pool, terrace, private deck, private dock, beach.

Note: no WiFi is available on Baru Island. Optional catamaran upgrade: If you prefer you can upgrade (at additional cost) to a romantic overnight sailing adventure aboard a private catamaran, staffed with captain, cook and English-speaking butler who will take care of all your needs.

You will depart Cartagena and sail through the Rosario Islands archipelago. The catamaran will be equipped with snorkeling equipment and floating devices so you can explore the various coral reefs replete with marine life. Gourmet Caribbean dishes will be prepared and served onboard, along with your selection of beverages.

Upgrade cost includes all meals. So you can customize with your preferences, menu options will provided prior to the trip with dishes including lobster, seafood, ceviche, coconut rice, etc.

Day 10 : Cartagena

You will be picked up at Casa Agua and return to Cartagena by boat. You will be met at the dock and transferred to the Cartagena Airport. Int’l departure or continue on a trip extension to other parts of Colombia.
