The hotel was named in honor of Doña Marina Welchez, and built on the site of her family home nearly 60 years ago.

It figures: Glifos has been Copan’s best known eatery for more than two decades, with the promise of a fine-dining experience which has been only perfected through time.
This Copan original, opened in 1991, remains a signature eating locale, the epitome of not just its Central American – regional style but also its own character.

After you exercise, you can pamper yourself at our spa or lounge on our outdoor patio enjoying a warm herbal tea and breath in the soothing scent of freshness while you gaze at our tranquil atmosphere by the swimming pool.
The swimming pool has a secure section safe for small children and toddlers alike, and a sloped section for the grown ups which is adjacent to the Jaguar Venado Bar where you can enjoy some refreshing cocktails while submerged in the warm waters. Maximum dept is 5.5 feet, and the water temperature is maintained warm enough via an Eco-friendly system of solar panels for your comfort.
The hotel has 49 rooms and suites, a recreation area with swimming pool, indoor garden, gym, sauna and massage room, restaurant, bar.
The Hotel offers single, double, and triple occupancy rooms as well as Presidential Suites, Family and Executive Suites. Rooms and suites are equipped with hot and cold water, telephone, cable television, Internet access, ceiling fan and air conditioning. Daily breakfast included.
