Hotel Plaza Colon is located right in front of Parque Colón, known as Parque Central in the historical city of Granada, Nicaragua.

The property was the home of many of the renowned families of Granada, the last of which decided to transform the house into a hotel. The three neighboring properties were acquired, taking special care in keeping the style and architecture of the original house. The current facade of the Hotel is the same it had back in the beginning of the 19th century.

You can start your day enjoying breakfast prepared with the freshest locally grown ingredients, accompanied by the best Nicaragua coffee, grown in the northern mountains of the country.

El Bar will welcome you with the national cocktail “El Macuá”; here you will also have the option of tasting, right in front of the Central Park, classic cocktails, a diverse selection of wines, national beers and delicious tapas.

Fortaleza la Pólvora It was built in 1748 to store the gunpowder that could not be kept at El Castillo in the San Juan River due to the humidity of the area. It was then used for troops and later as a prison.
Museum Convent and Church of San Francisco The church of San Francisco was the first building, along with its convent, to be built by the Spaniards in 1529.
Las Isletas Formed by an eruption of Mombacho Volcano, these 360+ islands have incredible lush vegetation and provide an excellent opportunity to enjoy nature. The best way to get there is to take a taxi to Cabaña Amarilla and hire a boat.
Horse Carriage Stroll The best way to enjoy the architecture of the city and experience how the Granadinos used to ride in the past. The carriages are located in front of the hotel.
La Merced Church Tower This church was considered one of the most beautiful buildings back in the day, it has been restored and enlarged several times.
Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve This dormant volcano is the creator of the Isletas. Some of the activities you can do here include visiting a butterfly garden, touring a coffee farm.
The White Towns These small towns are located 20 to 30 minutes away from Granada. Each one of them has a special feature from which they are recognized. Among the most popular ones is Catarina, the city of nurseries with its famous Mirador; San Juan de Oriente.
