The Best of Argentina – Buenos Aires, the Andes and Iguazú Falls
This exciting trip gives any ambitious traveler the chance to visit Argentina’s major cultural destinations while experiencing first-hand the rich, diverse landscapes that are found nowhere else in the world.
Enjoy a guided introduction to this incredible country in its capital city that will take you to the city’s four premier neighborhoods for ‘balcony’ views and tours of traditional Argentinian “barrios.” From Buenos Aires you will fly to Mendoza in the central Andes.
You will spend 3 nights at a wine lodge located in one of Mendoza’s outlying valleys.
One day you will tour wineries of your own selection, learning the history and development of the region, and another day exploring the High Andes on an excursion that provides gorgeous mountain vistas of the highest peak outside Asia, Aconcagua.
Then, fly to charming Bariloche in the Lakes District of northern Patagonia. You will spend a day on the classic ‘Grand Circuit’ excursion by private car.
More adventure awaits you in El Calafate, the gateway to the Patagonian region. You will visit the Perito Moreno Glacier with a trekking excursion on the glacier.
End your adventure at the natural wonder that is the Iguazú Falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. The thrilling catwalks and trails that surround Iguazú allow for incredible views of the waterfalls including the famous Devil’s Throat.

Day 1 : Buenos Aires
Upon your arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be met by one of our bilingual guides and transferred to your centrally located Buenos Aires hotel.
Overnight at the Recoleta Grand Hotel, daily breakfast included – 2 nights.
Day 2 : Four Balconies of Buenos Aires
Visit the city through the exclusive Four Balconies of Buenos Aires. Passing by many representative parks or squares, the guide makes an introduction into Argentina, its history, its contrasts, its contradictions and the particular psychology of the inhabitants of Buenos Aires.
Visiting the four highest parts of the city gives you possibility to enjoy the best panoramic views from the Buenos Aires. You will explore the “barrios” of La Boca, San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo, and Recoleta.
Day 3 : Buenos Aires – Mendoza
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Mendoza, a city for adventurers, gourmands and wine enthusiasts alike.
Upon arrival you will be picked up and transferred to a wine lodge located in one of the outlying valleys.
Overnight at Club Tapiz, located in Luján de Cuyo, 30 min away from the Mendoza airport, in an estate built in 1890 and surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards. Daily breakfast included – 3 nights.
Day 4 : Tour of 3 Wineries
You will be picked up at your lodge and set off with your private guide for a full-day tour that will include visits to three wineries.
Visiting the wineries is a means of discovering a great part of this history of pioneers and entrepreneurs. History, geography and the people combine to explain the amazing development and essence of the wines of Mendoza.
You will be able to choose the wineries (or take our recommendations) in the provinces of Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu you will visit, subject to availability. There will be free time for lunch (not included).
Your guide will offer suggested restaurants based on your preferences.
Day 5 : High Andes Tour
Set off today in a private car with your guide for a full day tour, climbing the Andean Range to visit the High Andes, location of the highest peak outside Asia – Aconcagua.
The trip will include breathtaking views, and several stops, including visits to Los Penitentes ski resort, and -time permitting- a short hike to Laguna de los Horcones, at the foot of the Stone Sentinel, Aconcagua.
Day 6 : Mendoza – San Carlos de Bariloche
Today you will fly to San Carlos de Bariloche, a town reminiscent of Switzerland with its own Argentinian charm. Gorgeous lakes, and surrounding mountains offer incredible views, and thrilling activity. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight at the Cacique Inacayal, daily breakfast included – 3 nights.
Day 7 : Bariloche Grand Circuit
You will be picked up at your hotel and set off on a full-day private tour of Argentina’s Lakes Region surrounding Bariloche. The panoramic drive passes by enchanted valleys, curious rock formations, Lake Traful and the little namesake village, and lakeside road parallel to Nahuel Huapi Lake.
The day is one of gorgeous scenery, clear rivers, forests and mountain vistas. There will be plenty of time to stop and explore a little along the way.
Day 8 : Bariloche & the Lakes District
Day at leisure to explore on your own or on optional guided excursions.
Day 9 : San Carlos de Bariloche – El Calafate
Today you will fly to the city of El Calafate, the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park in southern Patagonia.
You will be met at the airport upon arrival and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight at the Design Suites, daily breakfast included – 2 nights.
Day 10 : Perito Moreno Glacier with minitrekking
You will be met at your hotel and transferred to Los Glaciares National Park, in the sub-Antarctic Continental Ice-cape, known as the “Third Pole”, which extends over 60,000 square km (23,000 sq. miles) and gives birth to several major glaciers along the Patagonian Andes.
The excursion begins from the pier located at “Bajo de las Sombras” bay (approximately 6 kilometers before the glacier viewpoint), where you will embark to cross Brazo Rico, reaching the southwest shore after a 20-minute boat navigation in which you will appreciate the southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
After disembarking, you will reach the shelter where the guides organize the minitrekking groups.
You will walk approximately 20 minutes along the lake shore to the edge of the glacier. At this point the guides will assist you with the crampons and give you instructions for the moderate 2-hour hike over the ice.
During the trek over the glacier, you will appreciate various ice formations such as cracks, drains, little lagoons, etc. The ice surface where you will walk is irregular, but firm and safe.
At the end of the hike, you will return to the shelter walking through the exuberant Magellan forest. Return by boat across the lake. Once back at the pier you will travel for 6 km to reach the catwalks in front of the Perito Moreno glacier from where you will have different and amazing views of it. A boxed-lunch will be included and provided by your hotel.
Important tour notes:
- Park rules specify that the maximum age for the mini-trekking excursion is 65 years old. Strictly enforced.
- Los Glaciares National Park Entrance Fee is included. Entrance fees are subject to change without prior notice.
Day 11 : El Calafate – Iguazú
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazú, with connection in Buenos Aires. Upon arrival you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight Jardin de Iguazú, daily breakfast included – 2 nights.
Day 12 : Iguazú Falls tour
You will be picked up at your hotel by your private guide and set off to explore the Argentine side of the falls.
This side of the mighty falls offers three different tracks into the forest, each with self-explanatory signs describing where cataracts drop into the canyon. You’ll see the Devil’s Throat, with its breathtaking view. You and your guide will explore the upper and lower trails close to the falls.
You will take the train and then a short hike to the lookout point over the Devil’s Throat, with impressive views of waterfalls on three sides. The access to San Martin Island is by way of the catwalks of the lower circuit. National Park fee included.
Day 13 : Iguazú – Buenos Aires
Today you will fly to Buenos Aires and transfer to Ezeiza International Airport for your departing flight.
