Tiskita Jungle Lodge

Punta Banco, Costa Rica

Tiskita Jungle Lodge – Punta Banco, Costa Rica

Tiskita Lodge is one of Costa Rica’s first ecolodges. It is a family-run business, owned and managed by Peter Aspinall, his wife Lisbeth, and their children.

Tiskita Jungle Lodge, the best kept secret in Costa Rica, is an ecolodge that offers the opportunity to experience pristine tropical rainforest in its 800 acre private biological reserve.

Tiskita is about as remote as one can get, located at the end of the road on the secluded southwest coast of Costa Rica.

Besides an ecolodge, Tiskita is a private biological reserve. The biological reserve protects primary and secondary tropical rainforest.

It is home to plenty of wildlife, with over 275 species of birds recorded and a myriad of other animals, including endangered endemic species like the Central American Squirrel Monkey and the Granular Poison-dart Frog.

Sustainability has always come naturally to the Aspinall family, as Tiskita is an ecolodge that protects over 800 acres of rainforest in a private biological reserve. Moreover, supports local conservation and community development projects.

Tiskita also has an organic orchard, where over 125 types of tropical fruit are accessible.

There are nine private cabins with a total of 17 rooms. The cabins are scattered around the lodge. Each cabin is fringed by the jungle and has an ocean view. All cabins are only a few minutes walk away from the lodge, the rainforest, and the beach.

The cabins were built using precious woods like Mahogany, Purpleheart, and Rosewood. The wood was collected over the years mostly from trees that fell down in Tiskita.
