Galapagos Safari Camp – Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador

Galapagos Safari Camp on Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador is an eco-luxury tented camp that follows the African safari tradition in which guests enjoy total comfort under canvas while experiencing nature in its purest form.

The Tented Camp borders the National Park in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island’s “transition zone” and is close to the tortoise reserve.

The 55-hectare farm is on a ridge with magnificent views over the Pacific Ocean and the famous western and northern islands of Isabela, Santiago, Pinzón, Baltra, Rabida, Guy Fawkes and Daphne.

The camp is a family-owned property, managed by a handpicked team, adept at creating Galapagos holidays which take you to far off islands where animals roam free without fear.

Inspired by the magic of African safari camps, our dare-dreaming founders, Michael and Stephanie Mesdag, have brought the Safari tradition to the tropics, introducing a new concept for genuine Galapagos Islands travel.

Galapagos Safari Camp Deck View

The stylish central lodge is perched on a hill with panoramic views from its spacious veranda. The open-plan interior draws the eye to the islands scattered on the horizon below. Lodge facilities include main lodge, family suite, luxury tents, infinity pool.

The Galapagos Safari Camp menu offers a nightly journey across Ecuadorian cuisine and beyond, with local recipes and traditional dishes re-imagined with refined simplicity, using locally-sourced products whenever possible. A carefully-curated wine list offers a tour of South American wines to complement the experience.

Galapagos Safari Camp Deck Dining

Think quinoa pesto salad with roasted carrots, vegetables & yogurt… Grouper in an Ecuadorian coastal-style coconut sauce… Wahoo ceviche with sweet-potato cubes… Pork leg, marinated in beer, lemon and butter, roasted, accompanied by a passion fruit sauce, steamed corn in a leaf, avocado and spicy pickle…

Galapagos Safari Camp Tents

Set on a hillside overlooking the Galapagos National Park and the Pacific Ocean, our nine Safari Tents resemble the giant tortoises they share the landscape with when seen from above.

Inspired by classic safari design, they strike a balance between shelter and openness, with private decked balconies for hammocks, generous interiors, and a close connection to the natural world.

Each tent features an en-suite bathroom with solar-powered hot water and flushable toilets, along with multiple electrical sockets for charging cameras and devices.

Our Safari Tents can be arranged as double, twin, or triple, and are included as part of your Safari experience.
