Day 1: Galapagos arrival and transfer to Pikaia Lodge

Upon arrival you will have access to the VIP Lounge at Baltra Airport. Pikaia Lodge representatives will meet you and transfer you to the Itabaca Channel for a seven-minute ferry crossing to Santa Cruz Island followed by a 50-minute scenic trip by private transport to the Pikaia Lodge.

After checking in you will have a light lunch at Evolution Restaurant or on the Pool Terrace. You will be given the chance to relax and familiarize yourself with the lodge environment and facilities.

In the afternoon, a briefing will be held to review the week’s activities and special features about the lodge and the Galápagos Islands. Additionally, after dinner a 3D HD documentary on Galapagos filmed by Sir David Attenborough will be shown in the Explorer’s Lounge for those interested in gathering some additional information about this unique place.

Located on Santa Cruz Island in the center of the Galapagos Archipelago, the Pikaia Lodge is designed for the environmentally conscious, physically active eco-adventure traveler who seeks close contact with the unique natural wonders of the Galapagos.

The lodge is hidden in a secluded location and nestled on top of an extinct volcano crater – accommodations here are spacious, modern, and luxurious. Lodge facilities include Sumaq Spa, Evolution Restaurant, DNA bar, an infinity pool, fitness room.

• The 3-night Explorer Package includes 1 full-day private yacht sailing to outlying islands and 1 full-day land exploration (2 half-day – morning and afternoon) on Santa Cruz Island.
• The 4-night Explorer Package includes 2 full-day private yacht sailings and 1 full-day land exploration (2 half-day – morning and afternoon).
• The 5-night Explorer Package includes 2 full-day private yacht sailings, 1 full-day land exploration (2 half-day – morning and afternoon) and 1 half-day land exploration.
• The 6-night Explorer Package includes 3 full-day private yacht sailings, 1 half-day boat exploration (aboard the M/B Pikaia II) and 1 half-day land exploration.
• The 7-night Explorer Package includes 3 full-day private yacht sailing, 1 half-day boat exploration (aboard the M/B Pikaia II) and 2 half-day land explorations.

Days 2 & 3: Daily Yacht and Land Explorations

Yacht explorations

The yacht cruises are full-day programs onboard the Pikaia I Yacht. Private cabins are assigned and guests have the option to have breakfast onboard. On arrival at the island, the morning offers hiking or snorkeling activities until midday.

Lunch buffet with traditional Ecuadorian food is served while the yacht sails to the next point of visit for an afternoon exploration. Two hours before sunset the yacht sets sail for Pikaia Lodge.

While sailing, our guests can rest, shower, or freshen up in their air-conditioned private cabins, soak in the jacuzzi, watch a Galapagos documentary, join a discussion with guides, sunbathe or watch for seabirds or dolphins. The bar is open for service during sailings.

North Seymour and Mosquera Island
Bartolome and Chinese Hat
South Plaza and Santa Fe

Land exploration on Santa Cruz Island

For both morning and afternoon Land Exploration programs, guests can select from two options of Santa Cruz Island guided exploration and are divided into small personal groups. Each morning we plan exploration options based on satellite weather imagery and tides charts.

Depending on climate conditions and the season, programs are designed to visit various beaches, volcanic craters, or lava tunnels; look for giant tortoises and endemic wildlife; visit the Charles Darwin Scientific Research Center; or visit organic coffee farms in the highlands to see how settlers live.

Activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, catch and release coastal fishing or cycling can also be included.

Guests can relax and enjoy their days at the lodge independently as well. Mountain bikes, helmets, snorkeling equipment and wetsuits are available without charge at the front desk or on board our yacht. It is recommended to pre-book early to take advantage of any optional third-party activities not included in the package such as diving.

Day 4: Departure

After breakfast you will check out and transfer to Baltra Island Airport, assisted by Pikaia Lodge Guides.
