Embark on an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Galápagos Islands, where nature’s wonders unfold at every turn. This immersive itinerary begins on Santa Cruz Island, offering a rare opportunity to witness Giant Tortoises roaming freely in the lush highlands.
Upon arrival in Baltra, guests are welcomed by their guide and ferried across to explore the verdant interior of Santa Cruz, a landscape teeming with endemic flora and fauna. The day continues with a visit to the renowned Charles Darwin Research Station, a hub of conservation science and home to the Tortoise Breeding Center, where visitors can observe these iconic reptiles at every stage of life. From marine iguanas to vibrant bird species, the station offers a compelling introduction to the biodiversity that defines the archipelago.
Guests will settle into the Galapagos Habitat, a waterfront sanctuary in Puerto Ayora that blends comfort with ecological charm. Nestled along Academy Bay and surrounded by mangroves, this boutique hotel offers panoramic views and daily encounters with sea lions, pelicans, and marine iguanas lounging just steps from your private deck. With a selection of suites and rooms overlooking either the ocean or the mangrove ecosystem, the property provides a tranquil base for the adventures ahead. Each morning begins with a hearty breakfast before setting off aboard the Windrose, a luxurious 74-foot Sunseeker yacht designed for speed, comfort, and exploration. Over the next two days, the Windrose will transport guests to some of the most captivating islands in the Galápagos. North Seymour Island reveals dramatic seabird colonies and the courtship dances of blue-footed boobies, while Bachas Beach offers pristine sands and calm waters ideal for snorkeling among flamingos and wading birds. Bartolome Island, with its surreal volcanic landscapes and the iconic Pinnacle Rock, invites guests to climb for sweeping views and dive into turquoise waters alongside penguins, sea turtles, and reef sharks. Sullivan Bay, with its striking lava formations, provides a geological counterpoint to the marine life-rich beaches nearby.
Midweek excursions to South Plaza and Santa Fe Islands showcase the archipelago’s ecological diversity. South Plaza’s uplifted lava terrain supports nesting seabirds and sea lion colonies, while Santa Fe’s forest of giant Opuntia cactae shelters endemic land iguanas and Galápagos hawks. On Sundays, the itinerary includes Chinese Hat and Dragon Hill, two sites that highlight the islands’ volcanic origins and conservation triumphs. Day 1: Santa Cruz Highlands + Charles Darwin Station
Upon arrival at the airport in Baltra you will be met by your guide and depart by ferry across Santa Cruz Island to the highlands with its green vegetation. You will visit the highlands where you will be able to see Giant Turtles in their natural habitat. You will then head to the Charles Darwin Station.
The center is a reservoir of information on habitats and local conservation, as well as other fascinating relevant statistics. The most striking attraction of this station is certainly the Tortoise Breeding Center, where it is possible to view tortoises of varied sizes and shapes. Visitors can freely walk and get their photos taken with the tortoises.
Among other inhabitants at the center, you can see the land and marine iguanas and different species of birds. Afterward, you will transfer to Puerto Ayora.
Galapagos National Park entrance fee and Ingala Card must be paid at the airport upon arrival.
Overnight Galapagos Habitat, daily breakfast and dinner included – 4 nights. This iconic Galapagos hotel is situated in Puerto Ayora on the waterfront of Academy Bay surrounded by both Galapagos wildlife and mangroves on Santa Cruz Island.
On the oceanfront deck, there are daily displays of wildlife: friendly sea lions, marine iguanas, pelicans, and other well-known Galapagos animals love to relax in the company of guests. Hotel facilities include private deck and restaurant area with incredible panoramic scenes of the Galapagos Islands.
Guests can choose between 17 different rooms with an ocean view or view of the Mangrove Ecosystem. There are 5 Suites, 6 Superiors, and 12 Standard accommodations in total.
Daily yacht excursions will be aboard the Windrose. The Windrose is a state-of-the-art Sunseeker Manhattan 74-foot motoryacht. She cruises at unprecedented speed, in wonderful comfort, with catering facilities on board for snacks and lunch, space for everyone to relax, accompanied by your naturalist guide and a dedicated crew.
The daily excursions will depart hotel at 7:00am, return around 5:00pm.

Days 2, 3: Daily Island Excursions by Yacht
Seymour Norte + Playa Bachas (Mondays/Fridays)
After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to the Itabaca Channel to board the yacht that will take you to North Seymour Island, a great place for hiking. There is a visitor or circular path about 2 miles long that crosses the interior of the island and allows you to explore the rocky coast path.
Along this trail, you will be able to discover some of the largest seabird colonies on the Galapagos Islands.
Moreover, you will have the opportunity to observe the nesting sites of blue-footed boobies, and the bright and colorful frigates that are visible throughout the year. These two species represent one of the biggest attractions of Galapagos.
The frigates inflate their red chest when they try to attract mates or draw attention to their couples. These birds are also well known to steal food from the blue-footed boobies.
Additionally, you cannot miss the funny ritual or dance performed by the blue-footed boobies, in order to attract their couples.
After on board the yacht, we head to Bachas Beach, a beautiful white coralline expanse. This is the perfect place for practicing snorkeling, swimming or to simply enjoy the white soft sand. Several brackish lagoons only a few steps away from the sea provide feeding grounds for various wading birds, from stilts to flamingos.
Bartolome + Sullivan Bay (Tuesdays/Saturdays)
After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to the Itabaca Channel and board the yacht for the 2-hour navigation to Bartolome, an island with turquoise waters and beautiful white sand beaches.
Upon arrival, begin climbing a staircase. From the top you will see a spectacular landscape with two beautiful bays and fascinating formations of lava and volcanic cones. Here is the famous Pinnacle, which is a huge black lava formation that has eroded over time, representing the most recognized image of the archipelago. Near Pinnacle Rock you will also see two beautiful beaches in the form of a crescent.
This island offers some of the most beautiful landscapes of the archipelago. It is an extinct volcano and has a variety of red soils, orange, green, black and shiny volcanic formations.
This is the perfect place to observe the Galapagos penguins. Moreover, you can snorkel with sea turtles, sharks, white tip reef, tropical fish, sea lions and many other unique marine species. Take also into account that Bartolome Island is the breeding ground of the green sea tortoises. They come to the shores of the island to nest during the months of January and March, every year.
After lunch on board, you will visit Sullivan Bay, located on the eastern coast of Santiago Island. Sullivan Bay is the most interesting lava field in the Galapagos. A short walk on lava is a unique chance to experience the volcanic origins of the islands. “Pahoe hoe” and “AA” lava are the predominant shape in this moonscape.
After a land visit we have time to snorkel and enjoy the amazing white sand beach, where it’s easy to observe many different species of fishes, some turtles, sea lions and hopefully Galapagos Penguins.
Santa Fe Island + South Plaza (Wednesdays/Thursdays)
Two fantastic islands for wildlife and wild encounters await! After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to the Itabaca Channel to board the yacht for the navigation to Plazas Island.
We begin our day with a dry landing on South Plaza Island. This beautiful island is full of both land life and birds, including Swallow-tailed Gulls, Lava Gulls, Frigate birds, Masked boobies, Blue-footed boobies, Pelicans and Red-billed Tropicbirds. It’s easy to wander past a gull’s nest and observe chicks flapping their wings trying to fly.
Created by lava that was uplifted from the sea bed, South Plaza has resident wildlife and diverse plant life that has progressively taken over the island since it was formed. Along its steep cliffs, we find an amazing variety of birds, while on the lower rocky beach, we can observe colonies of sea lions and marine animals.
After a delicious lunch on board we head to Santa Fe Island, also called Barrington Island after British Admiral Samuel Barrington. This small island is formed of uplifted, submarine basaltic lava, formed some 4 million years ago. Much of it is a faulted plateau covered with a forest of giant Opuntia cactae.
As you walk through the dense bushes on the short trail, watch out for the Croton bushes, an endemic plant with an indelible stain. The most spectacular plants are the giant prickly pear cactae, unique to Santa Fe (Opuntia echios barringtonensis).
The Galapagos dove is common on the trail, as are painted locusts, often pursued by a snake or two. The park monument is often a vantage point to spy a Galapagos hawk. The highlight is the land iguana, a lighter-colored iguana that is endemic to Santa Fe. Santa Fe is also home to a large Sea Lion nursery.
*On Thursdays, the order will reverse – starting with Santa Fe Island then South Plaza after lunch.
Santa Cruz Island: Chinese Hat + Dragon Hill (Sundays)
After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to the Itabaca Channel to board the yacht for a 2-hour navigation to Chinese Hat, a very small volcano close to Santiago Island, surrounded by small spatter cones. It’s one of the smallest Galapagos Islands but don’t be fooled: it has a unique visitor site with an unforgettable view!

A wet landing on the main beach of the island gives us time to enjoy the sandy beach, where sea lions rest and a variety of wading birds feed on the shore line. The tranquil waters make great snorkeling experiences, where we can observe several tropical fish, sea stars and the chance to spot penguins under water.
After lunch on board, we motor over to Dragon Hill, one of the few visitor sites directly related to a conservation program led by the Charles Darwin Foundation and the Galapagos National Park. It was named after the land iguanas, considered the Galápagos’ “dragons”.
The population of land iguanas in this area was brought back from near-extinction by the efforts of the Galápagos National Park. It took a lot of work for them to control the populations of feral mammals such as dogs, cats, goats and donkeys brought by early Galápagos settlers. Heading inland on the trail, we pass two small salt-water lagoons where it is sometimes possible to spot flamingos and other shore birds.
The trail continues on and circles round the hill, providing a memorable Galapagos view.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the mainland. En route you will visit “Los Gemelos” (The Twins), two enormous collapsed lava chambers, a wonderful introduction to the majestic power of the forces of nature and the great biodiversity of the Santa Cruz Highlands.
This short, easy hike to each of the twins is swarming with endemic flora and fauna, including a remnant of Scalesia Forest, draped in liverwort, lichens and mosses, where is easy to spot some Darwin finches and perhaps the short eared owls.
Afterward, you will continue to the ferry dock for the crossing to Baltra. Transfer to the airport for your flight to mainland Ecuador.
Programs can be extended to 5 and 6 days.
