Hosteria La Estepa – El Calafate, Argentina

Hosteria La Estepa in El Calafate, Argentina is a 1700 square meter site, a replica of the typical Patagonian homes built in the early 20th century.

The snack bar, bar/lounge and the living room have a view of the Argentino Lake.

At 316 kilometers from Río Gallegos, capital of the province of Santa Cruz, is the city of El Calafate, which takes its name from the small homonymous bush typical of southern Patagonia from which a fruit is extracted.

The Airport El Calafate International, located 23 kilometers from the city center, is the destination for direct flights arriving from cities such as Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Puerto Madryn, Trelew, San Carlos de Bariloche and Puerto Natales. El Calafate is today a world destination.

La Estepa offers 18 Premium suites with a lake view and 7 Superior suites with a view to the Patagonian steppe. All of them are 27 square meters (290 square feet).

El Calafate was founded in 1927. In those days, the oxen pulled carts from the “Estancias” passed through loaded with wool. They would stop to stock up and rest, on their way to the ports on the Atlantic coast, where they sold their goods.
