Nazca Lines and Paracas Overnight Peru Tour

First visit the Nazca Lines. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
Scholars believe the Nazca Lines were created by the Nazca culture between 400 and 650 AD. The hundreds of individual figures range in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks, orcas, llamas, and lizards.
The lines are shallow designs made in the ground by removing the ubiquitous reddish pebbles and uncovering the whitish ground beneath. Hundreds are simple lines or geometric shapes; more than seventy are designs of animal, bird, fish or human figures. The largest figures are over 200 metres (660 ft) across. Scholars differ in interpreting the purpose of the designs, but they generally ascribe religious significance to them.
Then visit the to the Ballestas Islands, inhabited by thousands of guano birds and sea lions. On the way to the islands, look back from the boat at the mainland, where you will see Paracas’ gigantic candelabra on the cliff overlooking the bay.

Day 1 : Nazca Lines Overflight
Set off in a luxury bus for Pisco. The bus is air-conditioned, has reclining seats, and has refreshments for sale. Approximate driving time – 4 1/2 hours.
Depart the Pisco Airport for a 2-hour round-trip flight over Ica, Palpa and the mysterious Nazca markings. You’ll marvel at the huge birds and animals, geometrical lines resembling landing fields, and other figures.

The flight returns to Pisco from where you will transfer to your Paracas hotel.
Day 2 : Ballestas Islands – return to Lima
After breakfast you’ll transfer to the dock for a yacht cruise to the Ballestas Islands, inhabited by thousands of guano birds and sea lions. On the way to the islands, look back from the boat at the mainland, where you will see Paracas’ gigantic candelabra on the cliff overlooking the bay.
Return to Lima by luxury motorcoach.
