Poas Volcano Lodge is a stunning and unique mountain lodge nestled into rolling pastures, with breathtaking views of Poas Volcano and the northern Caribbean Plains in Heredia, Costa Rica.

The Lodge is located on a farm, on the edge of Poas Volcano National Park, with easy access to the delightful local villages and attractions.

It is only 45 minutes away from San José (Juan Santamaria) Airport making Poas Volcano Lodge an ideal choice of stay for those just arriving or about to depart Costa Rica.

At Poas Volcano Lodge the goal is to offer you the most authentic experience of a mountain Lodge in the Costa Rican cloud forest. You are welcome to enjoy the nature trails through the farm that include areas of virgin cloud forest, and where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse the Resplendent Quetzal.

If you’re looking for a wide variety of activities to fill your days with action Poas Volcano Lodge is ideally located to offer amazing activities from volcanology, white water rafting, cloud forest trekking and high ropes adrenaline.

At the lodge you will be warmly welcomed and made to feel very much at home. We encourage you to enjoy a relaxing time sitting by the fire in the library or sitting room, a game of pool or chess in the game room, or a film in the media room. Whether you are travelling with family or friends, there is something here for everyone to enjoy.

The eleven comfortable and elegant rooms, some of which are newly refurbished, each have their own character and individuality. They include six spacious, luxury, bedrooms with king or queen beds and elegant en suite bathrooms; three of which have balconies overlooking the sweeping views towards Poas Volcano.

The other three bedrooms have private gardens and are just steps away from the cloud forest. The remaining five bedrooms are located a few steps from the lodge in the outside garden rooms.

Quetzal

A magnificent bedroom and the largest in the Lodge, with direct access to the garden and its own, quiet, outdoor seating area. There are two comfortable queen sized beds and cosy sofas. The bathroom, with a garden view, has a separate WC, double basins and a shower.

Jacamar

A very special room indeed, just a few steps away from the main Lodge building, with a king sized bed, and its own fireplace and armchairs to relax in. It also has its own private garden and outdoor seating terrace, with the cloud forest as the backdrop.

Tanager

In the heart of the Lodge, Tanager is one of the three rooms with a balcony and those breathtaking views towards the Volcano and the national park. A spacious room with a really comfortable king sized bed. The bathroom has double basins, WC, shower and a dressing room.

Passiflora

When the Lodge was a family home, this room was the guest room. It is a lovely room with a queen sized bed and it is next to Jacamar, and only a few steps from the main facilities of the Lodge. The ensuite bathroom, with one basin, WC, shower, and a bath.

Toucanet

This spacious room, with a king sized bed, is in the main Lodge, with access to the garden and to its own outdoor seating area. The bathroom has a separate WC, double basin and a shower with a garden view.
