The boat was fully reconstructed in 2013 changing 85% of all the structure, in accordance with the new standards for shipbuilding regulations approved by the Navy of Brazil, getting a new date of birth due to its modern structure, improved spaces such as comfortable cabins, lobby, bar, solarium, and the amazing and acclimatized restaurant. DAY 1 - THURSDAY WELCOME TO THE AMAZON
Depart from the pier in Manaus to board the M/V Desafio at 2pm, your floating hotel for the next three nights. Once on board, a welcome cocktail with snacks and drinks will be served while the guide provides useful information about the Amazon, the boat and details of the program. Start sailing bound the archipelago of Anavilhanas, the largest river archipelago in the world. Dinner. In the evening, guests will enjoy a pleasant walk in motorized canoes for local recognition, an opportunity to hear the sounds of the jungle.
DAY 2 - FRIDAY THE ANAVILHANAS ISLANDS
Early morning, boat ride to admire the sunrise in the forest and the birds singing in their diversity. Return on board and breakfast while starts the navigation towards an indigenous community whose visit is an opportunity to meet the indigenous lifestyle and habits. Return on board and navigation towards Jaraqui village. Stop in land for an interesting jungle trekking to explore the fauna and flora. Return on board.
DAY 3 - SATURDAY MEETING OF THE WATERS
Breakfast on board and sail to Acajatuba village. On the way, stop at the floating station to interact with the pink dolphins, and feed the famous fish Pirarucu. Lunch on board. Departure and navigate along the Negro River towards the borders of the Solimões until reach the “meeting of waters”, where the Negro and Solimoes rivers meet to form the great Amazon River, followed by another exciting experience, fishing the piranha. Dinner. Evening canoe ride along the streams in search of caimans and other nocturnal animals with flashlights.
DAY 4 - SUNDAY EXPLORING THE RIVER
After another tropical breakfast, departure to see the giants and beautiful Amazonian water lilies while navigating back to the city of Manaus. After quicky stop in Manaus, lunch will be served on board while navigating straight down the Negro River, through the waters of the Amazonas River, to continue the expedition towards the Kings Lake, located in the city of Varzea Careiro of the Amazon, a place which economy is based on artisanal fishing activity and agriculture, surrounded by an indescribable nature. Arrival to Kings Lake, dinner will be served. After dinner, departure for a reconnaissance motorized canoe ride to explore the region at night in search for alligators of the specie jacaré- and other nocturnal animals with flashlights.
DAY 5 - MONDAY DISCOVERING THE LAKE
Breakfast on board and departure to visit the Kings Lake local community with its unique culture,u the multiple species of birds of the region, and also for an exciting piranha fishing, the dreaded Amazonian fish. Lunch will be served on board while navigating to another side of the lake. Dinner served on board. After dinner, excursion by canoe to explore the lake looking for nocturnal animals.
DAY 6 - TUESDAY UNFORGETTABLE SUNRISE
Early morning, boat ride to admire the sunrise and the birds’ awakening. Return on board for breakfast while navigating back to Manaus arriving at 11am.
